A focus group made up of two teachers answered questions on the characteristics of an effective coach and support they expected from a coach.
The teachers replied with confidence and comfort about the need for one-on-one communication and the need to be able to ask in -depth questions that are not available with self-help programs. They talked candidly about expecting a coach to be a trainer and provide pertinent information.
All aspects of the Active Listening Char included can be observed in the above video along with an explanation of skills used, how they were used, and their effectiveness.
Finally, a comparison of how the focus groups responses and research an Instructional and Cognitive Coaching align and differ is included.
